KUMU DOCUMENTARY
Surprisingly beautiful worlds at Kumu Art Museum.
Quality food for thinking people.
"Kumu Documentary" is a project of regular documentary film screenings initiated by the Black Nights Film Festival and Kumu Art Museum in February 2006.
"Kumu Documentary" is the only weekly documentary programme in Estonian cinemas. The programme can by large be divided into two sections: films about art and artists; and general documentary programme with main focus on cultural documentaries. Kumu Documentary holds a close hand on pulse of trends and orientation in the world of documentary films. Films in our programme invite to see, discover and give thought to the world around us. The screenings are introduced by specialists of respective fields and lectures on the topics are held; with all the films a public discussion is awaited.
"Kumu Documentary" works closely with all the Estonian documentary film festivals and often presents the best films of their selection.
The documentaries are screened in Tallinn's newest cinema hall in recently built Kumu Art Museum which is winner of the The 2008 European Museum of the Year Award. It may be said with assurance that documentary films have found themselves lots of eager friends and a classy modern home. "Kumu Documentary" caters well for a thinking person interested in the world around and inside us.
Weekly screenings in Kumu Art Museum with free admission.
