PÖFF kicks off today with the Opening Ceremony

The official opening ceremony of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival will take place
November 3 at 19:00 in the Alexela concert hall.

Come and celebrate the arrival of one of the most important Estonian cultural events of the year! In addition to the photo shoot, the ceremony and the opening film, several special surprises wait the
guests this year. The evening will be hosted by Ingmar Jõela.

Additionally, The Lifetime Achievement Award and the Bruno O'Ya Stipend for Internationally Acknowledged Estonian Talent will be presented.

First time in Estonia, the visual art project Murals by Banksy will be presented. The installation places the viewers face to face with war devastations in Ukraine. The work
follows Banksy's street art, which is left in the ruins of homes, schools and other
infrastructures. The audiovisual experience uses top level 3D scanning solutions.
The project was initiated by Artem Ivanenko, a 3D artist from Irpin, Ukraine. It is
directed by Artem Ivanenko, Alex Topaller and Dan Shapiro.

The ceremony will be followed by the festival’s opening film „Guardians of the
formula”. This Serbian director Dragan Bjelogrlic's thriller is based on the little-known
true story of Yugoslavia's secret nuclear project that went out of control. The film
introduces this year's focus program, which is
dedicated to the cinematography of Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro and North
Macedonia.

After the opening film of the festival, all guests will have a rare opportunity to
celebrate the 27th official opening of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival directly on
the concert hall stage! The follow-up party is hosted by Campari.

19.00 Start of the opening ceremony
A break for 30 minutes
20.20 – 22.20 Opening film "Guardians of the formula"
22.20 – 23.00 Introduction of the film team, Q&A
23.00 Opening gala follow-up party

Latecomers are not allowed in the hall! We hope for your understanding! There will
be a photo shoot before the start of the ceremony. To capture the festive moment
carefree, we ask you to come to the concert hall no later than 6:30 p.m.

Seats are unassigned.

There is no age limit at the Opening Gala.

The age limit for the continuation party is 18 years. Those under 18 must visit
it with a parent, other legal representative or an adult companion.

Every visitor, including a lap child, must have a valid ticket.

Latecomers are not allowed in the hall.

Taking photos/filming is not allowed.
